Let's say a trading partner wants you to move files you download from their server to a designated archive folder on that same server. This is a B2B file transfer, so it has to be automated. Here's what you can do to achieve that using JSCAPE MFT Server.

In a previous post, we taught you how to set up triggers that catch and handle trigger errors thrown by other triggers. Now, earlier this week, we received a query from a customer who had this kind of trigger but wanted to ignore a particular trigger event. That is, they didn't want their error handling trigger to execute its succeeding action(s) if the error thrown was a certain type of error. Here's one way to do it.

In a previous post, we showed how you can monitor Move File events and respond to them with an appropriate trigger action(s). You can perform these types of operations on Copy File events as well.

There are times when, as part of a business process, you'd want to monitor files that have been moved from one directory to another. Once a particular file is moved, you might want to kick off a subsequent task or series of tasks in response to that move event. The traditional way of doing this with JSCAPE MFT Server was to create 1) a directory monitor for each destination directory and then 2) a trigger that would respond to the file movement. We now have a more efficient solution.

If you've been using JSCAPE MFT Server, you know how important triggers are in automating business processes. In fact, many of our customers have hundreds of triggers (some even have over a thousand) running on their MFT Server instances. In these scenarios, it's always useful to have the ability to copy trigger configurations from one domain or server to another.

Organizations with hybrid infrastructures consisting of cloud-based and on-premise solutions will usually need the ability to conduct automated data transfers between these two domains. JSCAPE MFT Server's extensive cloud integration features can be a big help in meeting this requirement. In this particular example, we're going to demonstrate how easy it is to set up MFT Server to monitor a folder in an Amazon S3 bucket and automatically download each file added there.

One of the reasons why our clients love Triggers is because this feature makes it so easy to set up unmanned, automated file transfers that run overnight or over the weekend. But sometimes, you'll want to specify more than just a schedule. One particular client, for example, wanted to restrict a scheduled download to a certain set of files, which he wanted to specify using a regular expression or regex. This post details the steps we recommended for him to achieve that.
